In 2015 I was practicing law in Downtown Toronto and I had been travelling between Markham and Downtown for over 25 years. I met Winnie at Royal LePage, which I considered one of the leading real estate brokerage firms in the Toronto area. I retained her as my real estate agent since she impressed me in our first meeting. I had some very specific requests for a detached home that I was looking for. Winnie prepared some listings and we went through the advantages and disadvantages, and finally settled on Stouffville as the area I preferred. Eventually, I settled in on an older home built back in the 1920's. I was very impressed with Winnie's ability to understand the complexity and explain what I might expect from these homes. These older homes have the risk of urea-formaldehyde foam (UFFI) and vermiculite insulation, and also “knob-and tube" electrical systems, and my home had all these risks. While the UFFI had been removed we decided to check the formaldehyde levels. Winnie negotiated on my behalf and got the vermiculite removed and upgraded the "knob-and-tube" wiring at no additional cost to me. She even secured a professional air-quality test for me after all the insulation work was completed to make sure the house was safe. Finally, I moved into my home in the summer 2015 and I am absolutely enjoying my home in Stouffville. Winnie was an excellent listener and understood my likes and dislikes when choosing my home.
